C4L Success Stories
Allover Mzansi Construction Company
Sue, Nomvula, Sipho, Petunia, and Lifa, graduates of C4L's Development Practice course, have started a construction company called "Allover Mzansi Construction". These young people were given seed money by a local entrepreneur, Michael Matthews, who wanted to help a company of youth develop a business. He gave them their first contract and they are presently making the cement blocks you see in the photo. They are also going to be learning how to build both sand-bag houses and rammed-earth houses. Their trade mark will be eco-friendly homes.
Graduation Ceremony for Development Practice
In January 2010, 37 young people, ages 18 28, out of the 40 who enlisted in C4L's first 1-year accredited programme in Development Practice, formally graduated. This programme was funded by government through an Education window (ETDP-SETA).
